WAS Video-1-6.jpg

By first presenting a body of work in a traditional art show format, then inviting attendees the opportunity to become the next body of work & participate in a nude photoshoot, my intention is to turn our perception back on ourselves in order to reflect & reevaluate the stories we’ve been conditioned to believe about ourselves and others bodies.

I envision this project growing city by city, country by country, as wave after wave of people rise up to strip down and reveal themselves in the name of democracy, art, and our divine humanity, building a body of work that will live in photo books on coffee tables around the globe, and creating opportunity for folks from all walks of life to encounter natural and empowering imagery of our most essential home - our body.

CONNECT: THROUGH ART

THEMOVEMENT is formatted as a 2 week installation

with an

Opening Night Art Show Presentation → followed by 100 Nude Portrait Sessions → followed by the invite only, Closing Night Reveal Event where those that participated in a portrait session will gather to view their images, for the first time, in community

The previous installation presented at the Opening Night art show acts as a point of connection with prior participants, as well as the larger vision for the project. By also displaying other works surrounding the topic of body/self image, the Opening Night is intended to further uplift, inspire, and empower the nude form, through art.

Photographing 100 people at a time magnifies the experience to something beyond ourselves, allowing the amount of societal conditioning and pressure we all feel about the way we look to be processed, healed, and transmuted, much more effectively. It neutralizes the charge around nudity in such a way that it becomes simply what it is — our bodies.

INVEST: IN YOURSELF, AND HUMANITY, AS ART

This experience is crafted for both intimate individuality and deep connectivity within THEMOVEMENT in order to provide a supportive environment in which to collectively navigate a personal journey that, at its core, is ultimately greater than ourselves.

As a participant, the intention for each photoshoot is to honor the vessel of your most essential form, while connecting you with your inner light so that you might experience

true embodiment of your beloved incarnation.

By each person showing up to participate with all of their ‘flaws and blemishes and perceived imperfections’ they’re immediately creating space for others to belong, therefore contributing to a more inclusive ‘image’ of humanity.
— Photographer, Jen Fairchild

transform: THROUGH COMMUNITY

By gathering participants and their circle of people together to view the images - for the first time - at the invite only Closing Night event, the intention is to create a space to

collectively heal our conceptions and misperceptions around the human body.

We all felt something really special that night. It was a sense of belonging and power that I hope every woman has the chance to experience in her lifetime.

THEMOVEMENT

With each body of work linked to the previous and forthcoming installation through this format, marked by a Fine Art Photo Book that features all participants and their stories, the hope is to give folks from all walks of life the opportunity to connect with the nude form in a way that is natural, grounded and empowering so that bit by bit

the tide of people grounding down into their being, becomes an embodied wave.

By inviting Closing Night guests to vote on ‘City Ballots’ to determine the next location of THEMOVEMENT, we’re ensuring it unfolds in a genuinely organic & connective way, traveling wherever it’s called, and

spreading love and empowerment along the way.
