WHY A TRAVEL STIPEND?

Because of Instagram/Meta’s ‘Community Guidelines’ and the continual shadow-banning on my accounts, this work is not able to be shared in the way it’s meant to — through empowering imagery online — in any capacity. What this means is that the very real work needed in order to get the word out about the project is of the ‘old fashioned’ variety — by connecting face to face, human to human — city by city, and country by country. I am gearing up to make a cross-country pilgrimage from March 23rd to June 19th to do just that, making stops and connecting with art gallerists/event spaces/and businesses across the country to see how MAY WE RISE might collaborate in order to continue this work of empowering people through artful imagery. If you are financially able to give above and beyond what the ticket amount is, every additional monetary gift will be used for the purposes of supporting this cross-country/cross-continental endeavor. The hope is to build a global community grounded in local connection to bind the work and the vision together on a ‘Glocal’ (global + local) scale. Thank you for your support and contribution.
